2500 New Jobs for East Meath a REALITY.

Dear supporter,

2500 jobs will become a reality within the very near future, particularly if I am elected to our county council in June. Ballygarth Manor will be utterly transformed into an enchanting new development comprising of a retirement village, boutique hotel and state of the art golf course. I am aware that this is a recession and that golf courses and hotels are closing all around, but ours is special because we can build at 65% less than all existing competitors owing to the recessionary price falls, hence we can compete at a lower rate thus delivering a great service at a low price which, recession or not, will win. Get behind an ambitious young man and ask all of your friends and family to vote Carey No.1 for Local Government in Meath on June 5th. I thank you.

James Carey.

James Carey Politics in Meath as an Independent Candidate

Dear resident,

I write to you as an independent county council candidate for June 5th to affirm how badly an independent councillor is needed in our community. For centuries we have suffered the absence of a county councillor who is from here and it shows. An absence of public services, roads retained in an appalling state alongside a transport system akin to a banana republic.

I will change this.

Always yours,

James Carey.

Drogheda Independent Headline: Carey's Community Alert Launch

EAST Meath's new Garda Superintendent Jim Cannon was on hand to launch Stamullen's new Community Alert initiative recently.

The launch took place at a well attended community meeting in Whytes pub.

At the meeting Sergeant Trevor Dooley of Laytown Gardaí, Stamullen's new Community Alert Liaison Officer, explained how the system works.

He said it is very much community driven with a committee of local volunteers who 'identify community needs and collectively address them.'

At the meeting there was some confusion as to which station serves Stamullen.

Up until last summer the area was under the jurisdiction of Balbriggan Gardaí but now Stamullen is policed by Laytown Gardaí.

Superintendent Cannon stressed that Laytown Garda station has a 24-hour patrol-car service but it is not a 24hour station.

He said Laytown current has five sergeants and 14 Garda officers with one sergeant and four gardaí on patrol at one time.

The Superintendent said the target is to have more gardaí on duty in Laytown by the end of March.

He emphasised the need for people to report crime or the potential for crime saying Gardaí can check a licence plate in minutes and can tell if it is indeed suspicious or just a plumber on a job.

Noel McCarthy from Muintir na Tíre spoke about the origins of the Community Alert programme which was developed in partnership with An Garda Síochána, as a response to the rise in crime in rural Ireland.

At the meeting a 14 member volunteer Community Alert committee for Stamullen was established, chaired by James Carey of Glasheen Estate with Melanie Harkin from Cockhill as honorary secretary.

A list of Community Alert contacts for each estate in Stamullen will be circulated in the near future and a website is planned.

Liaison officer Sergeant Dooley can be contacted by email at trevor.dooley@garda.ie.

AT the recent launch of the Community Alert scheme, held in Whyte's function room in Stamullen, over 150 parishioners attended which is a record attendance.

Chairperson of the Community Alert James Carey, who is also the forthcoming local election candidate, said that the turnout for this initial meeting was staggering and he wished to extend his thanks and appreciation to everybody who turned up on the night including the liaison officer Sergeant Dooley.

Carey, who is a native of the parish, also stated that it is his utmost intention and commitment to the people of Stamullen to have a garda station provided for Stamullen.

He went on to say that the turnout of such a large gathering of people at the Community Alert meeting shows that the people of Stamullen are willing to do their share when it comes to policing and that a strong signal was being sent out to An Garda Síochana and the Justive Minister that the growing population of Stamullen and its hinterland needed a station.

Carey also stated that more recreational facilities must be provided for the children and teenagers of the village.

The next meeting of the Community Alert group will take place on March 25th in Whyte's function room.

Mosney Scheme

Urgent news.

A brand new Mosney & Asylum seeker based initiative is unveiled this week. After a lengthy department of Justice battle, local independent political East Meath election Candidate, James Carey won the right to put into action a scheme which links asylum seekers in Mosney with individuals or groups in our native community in need of labour based support. Residents Associations, the elderly and disabled comprised of 85% of all online applications already with mowing communal lawns, helping the elderly to bingo and general house maintenance ranking amongst the top 3 requests. Full details of this initiative are available, alongside an online application form at: www.jamescarey.ie/careycares

This story must reach the broader community as thousands of asylum seekers waste their days in our asylum centres. They want to work, but our Government will not allow them to, therefore the brilliant idea of simply connecting them to our communities on a voluntary basis makes total sense. Mosney will pilot this scheme, we will then roll it out nationwide. One local gentleman who suffers from brain damage, Mr. Brian Moran of Stamullen, Co. Meath said that without Editha, his helper, his life would be unbearable. "Before Editha began to help me, I was literally barely able to make a cup of tea. Now, she comes 4 days per week and I feel like a new man!"

This is positive news amidst the mountains of negative press of late. This creates a positive feeling out of a highly discussed, controversial and serious topic of the asylum process.

Call 086 845 3044 or fill out the online application form for further details.

Free Volunteers Initiative. All can apply!

Dear supporter,

I am delighted to launch my new Carey Cares scheme. You can apply for free voluntary labour from Mosney. All labour is available to anybody in the Slane electoral Area and applications are coming in thick and fast, so get to www.jamescarey.ie/careycares to order your very own helper, be you a residents committee, private individual, or group. Another good idea from Carey.

Jimmy.
